I had a great chance to see my favorite singer live in Poland. When I first found this news in March I promptly ordered a ticket. I was impatiently awaiting the day, but it was so worth it.

Duffy has an awesome voice. She proves in every way that it’s not a magic of a studio you can hear in her songs. The way she sings her well-known tracks keeps adding a new breath to them. It’s amazing what she can do vocally. I dare to say she’s even better live than on CD!

Except for Duffy, I was able to watch such bands as The Gossip, The Kooks and Moby. I must admit I spent money reasonably. I missed having such a great fun for a long time!

July 2nd, 2009

Summer vacation has already begun. I usually make plans for those three months of freedom to make use of the time. This year those are not aims, but only wishes I want to achieve. I made a clean, organized list of general things to do. Hopefully, most of them become a success.

  • make new friends
  • find a job and earn some money
  • make my dream of buying a DSLR more real
  • read books I’ve been planning on reading
  • catch up with all the new movies

One dream – among all of these – has already been achieved. I’m officialy a student of the second year at the University! I’m glad to have passed all the exams on time. It means an additional month of holiday for me. If only I could get a job and make use of it. I really need to earn money and pass my three-week training I have to undergo next year.

02.07.2009 There’s a problem I’ve been struggling with since I put this theme online. I can’t get the navigation padding right in Internet Explorer 7.0. I keep getting this weird space between li elements – which is not a problem in Firefox as it’s showed outside (in the picture), but makes a disaster in IE where it’s showed inside. Do any of you know how I can get rid of it?

It has been a busy weekend! Including Friday, I’ve been helping parents with cleaning and preparing the house. It’s Easter and my family is having guests today and as well tomorrow. I’m quite excited since it always has been us visiting people each time. This year it’s all different.

For this occasion I baked a cake. I love to do new stuff from time to time and so my culinary skills are improving! The cake is a sponge cake with poppy seeds mixed with it inside. The cream is vanilla-kind of, sweet, I can’t find an English equivalent. At the top you can find almonds. I hope it tastes well!

In other news, my friend had another operation. Something went wrong with his spleen and they needed to fix it once again. I’m keeping my fingers crossed, my spirit is all the time with him, if I only could visit him and be there. If only!
